Search Engine Land’s News Editor Barry Schwartz today reports a new quite cool feature in the Google SERPs called “in this video”. Google obviously is testing an extension to how it displays video results in their SERPs.
For instance, according to Schwartz, who refers to a tweet of SEO analyzer Amit Singh from India, this new feature gives search engine users additional options. The extended information relates to specific topical points within the respective video.
Users can profit from this by watching only those sections of the video they are interested in.
Feature “In This Video” In Timeline Format
They call the new feature “in this video”. Google kind of breaks down the sections of the video and shows them below the main result in the search results “in a timeline format”.
Besides the feature allows the user to directly jump to the relevant subtopic in the video with one click.
